Who's Who?
The Club Officials are elected annually according to ASA Laws and the Club Constitution at the Annual General Meeting. Everyone is encouraged to attend that meeting and to join in the discussion about Club development and to ensure that there is a pro-active group in place to provide a positive commitment to personal, professional and club development. The dates of these meetings are published both on the website and the notice board at the Haden Hill Leisure Centre.
All of the workforce are volunteers and are unpaid. Members to work on various committees are proposed and seconded prior to the meeting. Life membership can be proposed for a person who has shown exceptional commitment to the Club. Any member of the Club will be encouraged to participate in committee work and the commitments that the various jobs entail can be found in the respective job descriptions. The trawl of members is always as broad as possible so that various expertise and interests can be accommodated and promoted. Though the Club is small and sits in a corner of Sandwell, it has a history of competitive swimming achievement and is recognised as a potent force especially at local and regional level. To maintain it's success levels officials need to devote a great deal of time and ingenuity to the running of the Club. It was one of the first clubs to gain Swim21 accreditation.
The Club was formed in 1976 when it's first coach was Ian Hatfield. There is a strong tradition to being a member of Haden Hill and most of the club officials have been members of the Club since they started any involvement in swimming. There is representation by members of Local, County and Regional Committees and the usefulness of this involvement is immeasurable.
